The steps for strawberry cultivation achieve a high success rate of 95%
Step 1: Soak strawberry seeds in warm water for 6 hours, then drain and wrap them in a damp cloth for 12 hours to allow the seeds to absorb water and germinate.
Step 2: After that, sow the seeds in a pot and cover with a thin layer of soil.
To promote quick germination, you can cover the seed tray with plastic wrap, place it in a dry and well-lit area, and water once a day in the evening. Keep the soil moist and under direct sunlight. Strawberry plants may take 1 to 2 weeks to germinate.
Step 3: Once the plant has 3-5 true leaves, loosen the soil in the seed tray and transplant into pots or large beds. Depending on the size of the strawberry plant and the space available, you can plant one or multiple plants in a container.
Step 4:
- Place the planting container in a location with good humidity and direct sunlight, avoiding continuous exposure to sunlight.
- Water the plants usually in the evening when the sun is low and water the soil thoroughly. If the soil does not retain moisture, you can water once in the morning to ensure the plants have enough moisture.
- Regularly observe and remove old leaves, diseased leaves, or leaves shaded by lower foliage to facilitate photosynthesis. Note that pruning should only be done on thick or damaged leaves, as excessive pruning can hinder photosynthesis.
Step 5: After about 60-70 days from planting, the strawberry plants will start producing the first fruits, although the first fruits may not be as tasty and juicy. Each fruit takes 3 to 4 weeks to mature, with ripe strawberries being red, fragrant, and juicy. You should pick each fruit as needed, leaving the unripe ones on the plant.
